I had a brief phone call last night to tell me that Sally received her visa and that she and Andy were on their way to China. Will add more details as they come to me.
I am the head of Stoneleigh-Burnham School, a boarding and day school for girls in grades 7-12/PG in Greenfield, MA. As a graduate of the school, I look forward to celebrating its 140th anniversary in this first year of my headship.
I am very proud and happy to have become once again so intimately involved with my alma mater; though many updates have taken place since my student years here, the wonderful core is the same, and I am dedicated to preserving it. What matters most is the academic, social and physical growth of each girl, and much of that is accomplished by students' taking part in a close community where meaningful participation is key. Our mission states that "...each student is challenged to discover her best self and graduate with the confidence to think independently and act ethically, secure in the knowledge that her voice will be heard." (See www.sbschool.org for more info)
I've started this blog in order to allow parents, fellow alumnae, prospective families, and friends a close view into the life of the school, at least from the Head's perspective.
